KENYATTA UNIVERSITY MIGORI CAMPUS


Kenyatta University is happy to announce the commencement of Migori Campus whose operation will start in September 2011.

Applications are therefore invited from qualified applicants for the following programmes which will be offered in the academic year 2011/2012 beginning in JULY, AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER 2011 under the Open Learning, Institution Based and Full Time mode of study respectively.

1. Bachelor of CommerceTuition fees –
• East Africans Kshs. 120,000/- p.a.
• Non-East Africans Kshs. 175,000/- p.a.
Statutory fees – Kshs. 21,200/- p.a.

Minimum Requirement

Mean grade of C+ (plus) or equivalent with at least C (plain) in Mathematics and English or Advanced Level Certificate with two principal passes and a credit pass in Mathematics at ‘O’ Level certificate or Degree from a recognized university OR Diploma in a relevant field from a recognized institution OR CPA/CPS Part II or equivalent with at least Mean grade of C (plain) at KCSE and C (plain) in Mathematics and English.

2.Bachelor of Education (Arts)


• English/Literature or
ANY TWO (2) SUBJECTS CHOSEN FROM THE FOLLOWING
• Kiswahili, C.R.E, History, Geography

Tuition fees -
• East Africans Kshs. 100,000/- p.a.
• Non-East Africans Kshs. 140,000/- p.a.
•Statutory fees Kshs. 21,200/- p.a.

Minimum Requirments
Mean grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE or equivalent with at least C+ (plus) or equivalent in two subjects of career choice OR Mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or Division III at KCE or equivalent or one (1) Principal and one (1) Subsidiary at KACE and be holders of P1, S1, or Diploma in Education from a recognized Institution with at least two (2) years teaching experience after training.

3.Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education)

Tuition fees -
• East Africans Kshs. 100,000/- p.a.
• Non-East Africans Kshs. 150,000/- p.a.
Statutory fees Kshs. 21,200/- p.a.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Mean grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE or equivalent OR Mean grade of C (plain) at KCSE or equivalent with ECE Diploma from a recognized institution or P1 certificate and two (2) years relevant experience.

4.Diploma in Special Needs Education.


Tuition fees -
• East Africans Kshs. 72,000/- p.a.
• Non-East Africans Kshs. 125,000/- p.a.
Statutory fees Kshs. 21,200/- p.a.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or Division III at KCE OR Mean grade of C- (Minus) with a P1 certificate from a recognized Institution.

5.Bridging Course in:

• Mathematics
• Physics
• Chemistry
• Biology

Tuition fees – Kshs. 25,000/- p.a.
Statutory fees Kshs. 10,250/- p.a.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIRMENTS
Mean Grade C+ (Plus) at KCSE with a minimum of grade C-(minus) in the subject(s) to be bridged

MODE OF STUDY

6. Master of Business Administration (MBA) with areas of Specialization in:

Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship,
Marketing, Finance, Strategic Management,
Management Information Systems,
Project Management and Evaluation.

Tuition fees -
• East Africans: 120,000/= p.a.
• Non East Africans: 150,000/= p.a.
Statutory Fees: 22,700/= p.a.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIRMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent from Kenyatta University or any other recognized university.Those with Second Class (Lower Division) and at least two (2) years relevant work experience may be considered.

7.Master of Education in:

- Educational Administration
- Educational Planning
- Economics of Education
- Curriculum Development

Tuition fees:
• East African: - 120,000/= p.a.
• Non East African: 150,000/= p.a.
Statutory Fees: 22,700/= p.a.

Bachelor of Education Degree with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent from Kenyatta University or any recognized institution OR Bachelor of Education Degree Second Class (Lower Division) or equivalent with at least two years of relevant work experience may be considered.

• Open Learning

NB: Diploma holders from recognized institutions may apply for credit waiver in consultation with their respective schools.


MODE OF APPLICATION

(a) Application forms can either be obtained from Kenyatta University, Admissions Block, Room No. 012, Regional Centres located in Nairobi, Embu, Nyeri, Garissa, Mombasa, Nakuru, Kisumu, Kakamega and Marsabit or be downloaded from Kenyatta University website at www.ku.ac.ke on payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 2,000/- for East Africans and Kshs. 4,000/- for applicants from outside East Africa. This money should be deposited into any one of the following accounts:
