INSTITUTION BASED PROGRAMMES- AUGUST 2011 INTAKE

Applications are invited from qualified applicants for the following Kenyatta University programmes which will be offered in the Egoji Teachers College Meru. Through the Instutional Based Mode of Study in the academic year 2011/2012 beginning December 2011.

The programmes are offered during the school holidays i.e the months of April, August and December.
Bachelor of Education (Arts) 
• English/Literature, Math/Geography or any two of the following Kiswahili/History/ Geography/C.R.E

Tuition fees -
• East Africans Kshs. 100,000/- p.a.
• Non-East Africans Kshs. 140,000/- p.a.
Statutory fees Kshs. 21,200/- p.a

Minimum Requirments
Mean grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE or equivalent with at least C+ (plus) or equivalent in two subjects of career choice OR Mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or Division III at KCE or equivalent or one (1) Principal and one (1)Subsidiary at KACE and be holders of P1, S1, or Diploma in Education from a recognized Institution with at least two (2) years teaching experience after training.
Bachelor of Education (Special Education)

Tuition fees -
• East Africans Kshs. 100,000/- p.a.
• Non-East Africans Kshs. 150,000/- p.a.
Statutory fees Kshs. 21,200/- p.a
Mean grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE or equivalent with at least C+ (plus) in
one of the following subjects, English/Kiswahili, Maths/Biology and any Arts subjects OR Mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE or Division III at KCE
or equivalent or one (1) Principal and one (1) Subsidiary at KACE and be holders of P1, S1, or Diploma in Special Education from a recognized Institution with at least two (2) years teaching experience after training.

Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education.
Tuition fees–
• East Africans Kshs. 72,000/- p.a.
• Non-East Africans Kshs. 125,000/- p.a.
Statutory fees Kshs. 21,200/- p.a.

Minimum Requirments
Mean grade of C (Plain) at KCSE Or Division III at KCE OR Mean grade of C- (Minus) with either a P1 certificate or an Early Childhood Studies certificate from a recognized Institution.

MODE OF APPLICATION


(a) Application forms can either be obtained from Kenyatta University, Admissions Block, Room No. 012, Regional Centres located in Nairobi, Embu, Nyeri, Garissa, Mombasa, Nakuru, Kisumu, Meru, Kakamega and Marsabit or be downloaded from Kenyatta University website at www.ku.ac.ke on payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 2,000/- for East Africans and Kshs. 4,000/- for applicants from outside East Africa. This money should be deposited into any one of the following accounts:

(b) Duly completed forms should be returned to the Registrar (Academic), Admissions Block Room 012, Kenyatta University on or before 18th Nov, 2011. Copies of relevant certificates, Academic transcripts and original application fee receipt MUST be attached to the Application form.
