Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology - Karen Campus invites candidates to apply for the May 2012 admission into the underlisted self sponsored Degree, Diploma and Certificate Programmes. (All programmes are full-time)

Course & Duration	Minimum Entry Requirements
B.Sc. in IT  STAGE I 8 Semesters	-Mean Grade: KCSE C+ and Grade C in English and Mathematics   Or -Two Principal Passes  in A-Level/Kenya Advanced Certificate  of Education( KACE) Or -A pass in diploma in Information Technology, Management & Information Technology (MIT) OR Computer Technology. OR -an equivalent qualification by Senate.
B.Sc. in IT  STAGE II 5 Semesters	-Diploma in Information Technology of JKUAT in with Credit Pass Or -Bridging Certificate course in Information Technology Or                     Credit Pass JKUAT Diploma in Management and IT. -Be a holder of any other equivalent qualification recognized by the University Senate.
B. Sc. Actuarial Science 8 Semesters	- Mean Grade: KCSE C+, plus a minimum C+ grade in Mathematics and C+ in English.
B. Sc. Mathematics and Computer Science 8 Semesters	- Mean Grade: KCSE C+, plus a minimum C+ grade in Mathematics, Chemistry C-, Physics C-, OR Physical Sciences C-, and Biological Sciences C- & Bridging Certificate – Credit.
B. Sc. Medical Microbiology 1st Level entry. 8 Semesters	- Mean Grade: KCSE C+, plus a minimum C+ grade in Biology, C-in Mathematics, C- in Chemistry. C- in any of the Choice (Physical science, Eng/Swa) OR A- Level (2 Principal Passes or ordinary Diploma in a relevant field)
B. Sc. Medical Microbiology 2nd Level entry. 6 Semesters	Ordinary Diploma, Applied Sciences- (KNEC) with at least Credit Pass.
B. Sc. Medical Microbiology 3rd Level entry. 4 Semesters	Higher National Diploma, Applied Sciences- (KNEC).
Bachelor of Commerce 8 Semesters	Minimum aggregate of C+ at KCSE or Equivalent and a minimum of C in  Mathematics  and C in English/Kiswahili; Or KACE Certificate with minimum 2 Principal passes and a minimum of a Credit pass in Mathematics at KCE. Or An accredited diploma in management with a credit pass that is recognized  by the University Senate,  Or Any other qualification accepted by the University Senate as equivalent to any of the above.
Bachelor of Purchasing and Supplies Management 8 Semesters	Minimum aggregate of C+ at KCSE or Equivalent and a minimum of C in  Mathematics  and C in English/Kiswahili; Or KACE Certificate with minimum 2 Principal passes and a minimum of a Credit pass in Mathematics at KCE. Or An accredited diploma in management with a credit pass that is recognized by the University Senate,  Or Any other qualification accepted by the University Senate as equivalent to any of the above.
Bachelor of Mass Communication 8 Semesters	Minimum aggregate of C+ at KCSE or Equivalent and a minimum of C in  English/Kiswahili; OR KACE Certificate with minimum 2 Principal passes and a minimum of credit pass in English at KCE. Or Be a holder of diploma or professional certificate in a relevant discipline OR Be a holder of any other qualification accepted by the University Senate with KCSE C Options Public Relations, Broadcast Journalism, Advertising, Print Media.
Bachelor of Business Information  Technology 8 Semesters	-Minimum aggregate of C+ at KCSE or Equivalent and a minimum of C in  Mathematics  and C in English/Kiswahili; Or -KACE Certificate with minimum 2 Principal passes and a minimum of a Credit pass in Mathematics at KCE. Or -An accredited diploma in management with a credit pass that is recognized by the University Senate,  Or -Any other qualification accepted by the University Senate as equivalent to any of the above.
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) 8 Semesters	-Minimum aggregate C+ in KCSE with minimum of B (Plain) in English Or -KACE Certificate with a minimum of two principal passes (A,B or C)and one -Subsidiary pass or a degree or a two year diploma from a recognized institution.
Diploma in: ·      Mass Communication ·      Business Information Technology ·      Purchasing and Supplies Management. ·      Business Administration (Full Time) 18 Months	-KCSE Grade C; with at least C- in Mathematics and English. -KCE Div III or -Credit Pass in any relevant Course  with at least KCSE  Grade C- with at  least C- in both Mathematics and English or  -KCE Div III Minimum of C- in both Mathematics and English.
Diploma in IT 18 Months	-KCSE Mean Grade C and Grade C- in English and C- in Mathematics. Or  -Credit Pass in IT Certificate (Stage 1) OR -KACE  Certificate  with Subsidiary Pass in  Mathematics  OR -An equivalent qualification recognized by the University Senate.
Certificate in IT (Full time) 3 Months	-Mean Grade: KCSE C- (Minus) Or -An equivalent qualification recognized by the University Senate.
Bridging Certificate in Mathematics (Full Time ) 3 Months	-For Degree Applicants -Aggregate Grade C+ in KCSE, Or the equivalent Grade. - For Diploma applicants- Aggregate Grade C (Plain) in KCSE, Or Division II in KCE or the equivalent grade. -For Certificate applicants – Aggregate Grade C- in KCSE, Or Division III in KCE or the equivalent grade.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Candidates seeking admission are required to fill application forms obtained from the Principals Office - JKUAT – KAREN CAMPUS NAIROBI on payment of non-refundable fee of Kshs. 1500 for the Degree Programmes, Kshs. 1000 for all Diploma/Certificate Programmes and Kshs. 500 for bridging Certificate in Mathematics. The application fee can be paid to any branch of the KCB Bank, JKUAT – KAREN CAMPUS Account # 1102700371, or a Bankers Cheque.  The duly completed forms should be returned not later than 30^th March, 2012.
