Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology invites applications for the following programs in the College of Engineering and Technology (COETEC) to be offered at Nairobi CBD campus and Nakuru CBD campus.  Classes will be held at the respective campuses while laboratory sessions and practicals will be held at the main campus, Juja.

1.      B.sc in Civil Engineering (Nairobi and Nakuru CBD campuses)
2.      B.sc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering ( Nakuru CBD campus)
APPLICANTS ELIGIBILITY
First year Entry
(i)                 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) who have at least a mean grade B- (minus); and a mean grade for the total score in the four JAB cluster subjects of at least B (plain); and the following minimum grades in the individual cluster subjects: Alternative A – Mathematics C+ (plus), Physics C+(plus), Chemistry C+(plus), and Geography or Biology, or any of Group II C+ or any of Group III C+ or any of Group IV C+(plus); Alternative B – Mathematics C+ (plus), Physical Science B(plain), Biological Sciences C+(plus), and Geography or any of Group IV C+(plus), or equivalent qualification obtained in other examination systems
or
(ii)               Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) applicants who have at least two principal passes in Mathematics and Physics; and at least a total score of nine (9) points, and at least a credit pass in Chemistry at the KCE or its equivalent.
or
(iii)             A holder of any other qualifications recognized by the senate as equivalent to (i) or (ii) above.
Mid-Entry
(i)                 A holder of National Diploma with credit (KNEC Exams) in Civil or Electrical Engineering- 2nd Year Entry
(ii)               A holder of Higher National Diploma (KNEC Exams) in Civil or Electrical Engineering- 3rd  Year Entry

b. Alternative B:
            Biology Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, English or Kiswahili

2.      Conversion entry program
Entry at year 2- Candidates must be holders of a Diploma in OT/PT from a recognized Medical Training Institution or its equivalent as recognized by JKUAT.
Or,
     Entry at Year 3- These are the Diploma Holders in OT/PT  and a Higher Diploma in Health related program recognized by JKUAT. 
 
(a)    In addition, the candidates MUST be registered with the respective national professional bodies.  Foreign trained Therapists must be registered with their respective   professional associations in their respective countries of training. They must also be compliant with all the respective professional associations   in Kenya.
(b)        All applicants for this Conversion programme must have professional experience for a period not less than three years.

3.      Those holding qualifications equivalent to the above from institutions recognized by JKUAT Senate may also be considered for admission. In addition the applicant must meet specific faculty requirements during the four years of program.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Applications for the courses are on official application forms, which may be obtained from the JKUAT approved Centres or JKUAT CEP Office (Juja) or downloaded from the University website www.jkuat.ac.ke.

All application forms are obtained upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 500/= for certificates/diplomas and Kshs. 1,500/= for degrees  and Kshs 2000/= For post graduate programmes directly or through bank deposit at any Kenya Commercial Bank branch,  Account Name- JKUAT-CEP and Account No. 234630554. For bank deposits, the application forms MUST have a copy of deposit slip attached while for downloaded application forms, a copy of deposit slip should be attached to the forwarded application documents.
CLASSES BEGIN ON THE FOLLOWING RESPECTIVE DATES
10.   Diploma / Certificate in information Technology Programmes commence on Monday, 30th April 2012
11.   Degree and other diploma programmes commence on the Monday 7th May 2012
